Question
Hello Doctor,
I did a science fair experiment last year pertaining to if dizziness could be affected by wearing a blindfold. I noticed that one of my test subjects was wearing contacts and the subjects results were different from all the other test subjects. I would like to know if wearing prescription contacts can affect a person's dizziness and if so how.
Answer
Dear Anna,
The eye is just a passage to the brain for 'seeing' through the visual pathway. If the visual pathway is blocked, )by blindfold) as you have used, then even wearing contact or glasses, would have the same effect.
So, if the blindfold was correctly applied, should not have been different
The dizziness is because of the equilibrium needs to be maintained to a certain level with aid of vision.
Hope this helps,
Best,
