removing crystalens

Question
my mother just had cataract surgery on her left eye. I got the crystalens for her. I read now on the internet that people are having problems with these lens now I am scared. I was wondering if these lens can be removed if she has problems?

Answer
Hi Cathy,

No. This is not required at all.

Crystalens is an excellent lens. The visual expectation of the patient need to be defined as well as their eye condition needs to be favourabvle for the same.

Many cases you read about have been diagnosed with retinal or macular conditions which do not help then achieve exceelent vision. In such cases, either the diagnosis of such conditions was missed, or patients not properly counselled regarding this.

usually, such conditions would not give great vision irrespective of the lens used and when one chooses one the premium lenses, their expectations rise.

Hence, it is not the lens per se that gives unhappy results, it is when these expectations are usually not defined and discussed to the satisfaction of patients that this happens.

Not to worry.
